A joystick?  Some rotation button...  Think about how you would like to control
the robot...

If the robot is extremely complicated, a simple Amiga joystick would do or a
huge PentiumIII with extra fans plugged on it...

I belive the digital "1's" is used to be placed to the right, not to the
left.
