But, the banisters leading away from the view-point to the right hand
door don't look right - they don't appear to be parallel, with the gap
getting closer as they move away from the viewer...
Also, the walkways are awfully narrow - I wouldn't want to meet someone
coming the other way when we were both carrying armfulls[1] of books...

Might be the angle of view of the camera...I've got it something like
100 degrees.

Yeah, the walkways are only wide enough for one person. The stairs, too.
