Gilles Tran I ain't.
Same library I posted a while back, with some additions.
All the lights in the scene are area lights.
The candles on the chandelier have my attempt at acattering
media...they're kinda over-lit.
Railings, door frames. Yay.
Need to make the doors themselves, books, etc.

But do you have them close enough to the ceiling?

Have you tried adding radiosity?
I'm trying to figure out why the scene looks computer generated. The objects
are alright. It sure isn't the missing door keys, or the lack of pictures on
the walls. It has to be the light.

Hugo

Haven't tried that...I think I shall experiment a bit.

It's the atmosphere. There isn't any. There should be
dust floating about. There should be a little bit of
focal blur. The numbers that I'm using for the light
are also wrong...I need the fade-distances for a candle
and a gas lamp.

Have you tried Jaime's lighting macros?

Have I tried the who with what? Sorry, I'm on line 93
of 480 at 67 PPM, not going to be doing anything other
much than play free-cell for the next few days. I've
got radiosity, focal blur, and an ambient media. It
looks much nicer, from the test renders I've done of
each part separately.

The ceiling should be burning with the candles that close - at least there should be
large black soot marks!

Sorry I wasn't clear. I was referring to Jaime Vives Piqueres. I know you know
his work right? Well, his website is here: La Persistencia de la Ignorancia
http://www.ignorancia.org.
He has put a lot of work into some indoor lighting macros I thought you might
find useful.
I Look forward to seeing your the results of your current effort.
