Hi Folks,

After looking at the World Machine program that was mentioned in p.o-t,
I thought I would see if I could replicate some of the effects using
functions and isosurfaces only.

Here's my WIP on terracing, showing tilted terraces merging into a lower
plain.

Comments would be appreciated.

Bye for now,
	Mike Andrews.

Nice - the green is a little in-yer-face though. I would expect much more
deformity with this degree of tilting (iirgc the terraces would have been laid
down flat, and become tilted through buckling).

I like it. Needs a lot more details to be called "realistic" but it's a nice
layout.
May we have a look at the function you used?

Regards,

Marc-Hendrik

Every time I've seen such terraces (minus the tilted angle) they were
created by large machines, mining for minerals. One such place near here
is called Carson Hill, and was one of the very first places known to
have the gold telluride, Calaverite. It's a mix of gold and silver in
crystal form.

Your image is looking good. It's like an old strip-mining operation has
been under the stresses of plate-shift.
