again, but this time I try to break the ice.

Suggestions please,

I like this a lot. I especially like the water and fog aspect.
It is almost spooky....

I love the lighting and reduced color palette. The image naturally puts
a lot of emphasis on the water surface. I find it is not quite
realistic when focused on. I think the waves need more peaks for one thing.

Looking great!
I love the long style of the boat and the water is looking nice and
detailed.
I would suggest maybe having the front of the centre beam (keel thing -
i'm no sailor!) extended a bit more, maybe silghtly decorative with a
hole and an iron ring through it...
sorry for the paint-over, but i think it explains what i mean ..

Welcome! :o) It's always nice to see new people here!

I understand what you mean about posting your images, once I felt the same
way about mine.. But this picture is an eye-opener, that you can be proud
of! I assume you made this with POV-Ray and it's very good indeed.

It's almost a bit too foggy, but on the other hand, the details are still
visible.. It looks realistic, and well, even a bit scaring because I wonder
if someone was recently in the boat.

Regards,
Hugo

Spooky...great atmosphere. Really makes you wonder what might be in the
bottom of that boat and why it is floating there. It doesn't look like a
typical computer generated image. Can't think of anything to add to
it...maybe a really dingy old ring float and rope or a brown/gray lump
in the bottom like someone under a tarp or blanket, but the image is
really fine as it is. Simple, but looks finished, it doesn't really need
more.

JPEG really killed the subtle colors and shading, going to post the
source code?

Whoa, nice mood... Good use of color, value, texture, etc.
I imagine a fisherman's wife might be lonely after finding out her
husband was lost at sea... Kind of sad.

Too foggy? I've seen fog this thick, usually when driving through the
central valley (yuck) of California.

I really like the atmosphere too!
In an attempt to see if there were any water inside the hull (are there) I
added gamma 1.9 brightness 14% and contrast 80% in paint shop pro,
and came up with the attatched image. Which I think is quite interesting,
especially the water get a certain feel to it..And you see the great amount
of detail you've put in the boat, better.
Looks great! Welcome, and keep them coming!
