Hello
This is my first post to this ng, but not my first image :)
SW2 was for me a good occasion to re-jump into povray after a long time.
This droid is just CSG and is absolutely not finished, but I am quite
glad of the result.
What do you think ? Any comments ?
I have still much work on the material of the bot (it seems too clean,
and lacks many details), but the shape is there I used the
Radiosity_normal settings. Would it have been better to use other
settings ?
The bottle is too clear, it wasn't like that without radiosity (and in a
futur render i'll fill it :-). Perhaps I should use photons, has someone
a good tutorial to begin playing with photons ? And radiosity causes
problems on my machine : it always segfaulted during the render (on
linux like on windows), i had to use someone else's computer to render
this one :( Has someone explanations ?
And if I have time i'll perhaps do a whole scene, much more detailed
than this poor one, but it'll be for the irtc :-)
Regards,
Julien (sorry for my english, it's not my mother language)

The real problem I see is sharp edges, but otherwise it looks exactly right.
His left hand appears to intersect with his left knee.
I'd *love* to see that scene from episode one where there were thousands of
droids that stood up all at once. (Haven't seen episode 2 yet.)

That must have taken some time to model, it looks great. It really
needs an environment to reflect.

Hi!
lasts more than 10 years :-)
Do you know this french Pov NG: news://news.zoo-logique.org/3D.Pov-Ray ?
We'd be glad to welcome you.

I love it. It has an expression / attitude that says "Empty already?".

Is there a way to easyly round edges ? I don't want to re-model entirely
it :/

Yes, I saw it, but it was too late, no time to re-render it on my slow
machine.

I'm working on something approaching. I'll be back for irtc :-)

Just go and see sw2, you'll understand why (in fact I began to model this
one much before Episode 2)

Let's see that.

Nice model, but if you're going for the look of the ones in the movie, you need to
tone down the reflection a bit and add some
dirtiness.
