This version adds emission to the media, I also tried extinction 0 but
emission gave a more all-over effect. Further blended the bluish bloom
on the surface of the grape. Comments?

Need a glass of wine beside them. Grapes by themselves are boring.
Grapes plotting to take over the world are something else, but even
that would need some additional pictoral elements.

This looks very good!
It would look wonderful with a better subsurface scattering techinique
such as that applied by Kari Kivisalo (see
 http://news.povray.org/povray.binaries.images/18020/ ). Also needs a
stronger effect of that whitish residue usually found on grapes. :)

Some examples to aspire to . . .

They're coming along nicely. Just a tad more work and then you'll be
ready to time-lapse them into raisins. :)

I think the biggest problem with them is the stem color. It looks nothing
like any other grape stem I"ve ever seen. I think it needs to be darker.

Ah! Do you see that silk-like light effect on the grape surfaces?

While I agree the stem colour seems bright I don't know if I would change it
I love the colour the way it is now.

Yes, I am aiming for a more elaborate scene,... but I wanted to get the
grape texture first.

Yes I am aware of Kari Kivisalo's technique. I am further applying a
semi-transparent skin so it is not a straight "sub-surface" effect. I will
experiment further.
