It's one of those "POV-Ray can do whatever renderer X can."
Brazil geese: http://www.trinisica.com/sub_view.asp?lv=1&mode=4

Dispersion, interior attenuation, focal blur. Took 30 minutes
to model in Rhino, 2 hours to set lighting and 1 hour render time.

I dunno. Is anyone else tired of seeing brazil images and then watching
people copy them with POV-Ray? I want to see some amazing POV-Ray scenes
that will make Brazil users want to copy *us*.

This image is very good, however. A nice soft feel to it.

Very nice!
Especially the lower part (the body?) looks good with POV.

On the right track definitely! The focal blur is just too strong, and there
are no photons. The glass could use more contrast, to shine as beautifully
as brazils.. But you're right, POV can do it all.. And I think "brazil" is a
strange name for a renderer.

Hugo

I agree that the blur seems unnatural. The neck of the swan also looks a
little lumpy to me.

Another step to reality.
Very realistic dispersion effect.
What constants you have used?
I searched for dispersion coefficient, but have not found real values.

The swan is nice too.

Simply sweet.

Now let's show some of these works in the official POV-Ray website and see how the
downloads counter starts to run...

I like this, I remember as a kid some time going somewhere with my dad
and we saw these guys who were glass blowing, they made a wan that
looked like this and was the same colour too.

This was designed to impress 3DStudio users accustomed to dull polygons.
Thus the high dispersion: dispersion 1.1 dispersion_samples 10
Focal blur smooths the internal reflections. This isn't WIP...

impressive manipulation of the POV renderer... very sweet.
decent render time, but on what equipment?
