Here's my most recent addition to my Mesh-Macros:

Using my BSpline-Macros (may be found on my
website, by the way), I've just written an algorithm
which sweeps the spline around the Y-Axis to
create a Lathe-like shape.
On the left hand side, you'll see the plain mesh,
on the right the smoothed-mesh, and in the middle
above, the calculated normals. All pure POV, no
external C-Programms...

I know that the lathe of POV is quicker, but
I couldn't find good reference for the algorithms
the different splines use, and I'm not sure if my
type of spline is implemented at all. If anyone
would care and take a look at my spline-include
on my webpage and tell me, it that spline-type
is available, I'd be grateful.
(Fo the more advanced: my spline-type is the
same one Chris Colefax implemented in his
old spline-include, but I found mine in an
algebra-book before looking at Chris Colefax's...
talking about re-inventing the wheel).

Hi, got a minute to get online..

:-) the thingy with the normals is my favorite
will you add also some other spline types?

BTW: is your gerbera finished? What do you do with it? Any full scene
rendered yet?

Perfect results.
I would like to see a render of this with the control points shown if you
have time.

Well, probably not. Most of the splines are pretty
much taken care of with the POV-implemented
ones, and I find "my" spline very easy to visualize
in my mind. So that's the reason why I use it.

Nope, the Gerberer is not yet finished. I need to implement
a "thickening" macro to make the petals some tiny fraction
thicker, in order to add some scattering-media effects. Then
I've got to tweak the textures.
You'll see some results pretty soon, at least I hope so. Don't
worry, I'll post them here, I just don't have that much time...

The lathe-mesh was implemented in order to model
a vase for the Gerberer later on, so the entire Work is
just being done in different spots at the same time... ;-)

I'll get to it when I have some more spare time, right now, I've got
5 minutes left until I need to leave for work...
