So, this is the latest Version of my Gerbera.

This scene uses Radiosity, Photons (saved from beta16 and loaded
to work with with RC#1) and focal-blur.
Traces in 20 minutes and parses about 40 secs on a
1.4 GHZ Athlon with 512 MB RAM, Win98

I need comments and suggestions on what more there
is to add, what to change with the textures, what to
try, enhance... I'm thinking about adding a butterfly,
but need a good, not-so-often-seen image-map for that, which
traces nice with Radiosity and photons...
What kind of objects could I possibly clutter on the floor?

Ah, well. Only a few days left till deadline, so... Comment, please!

How about a couple of keys and a coin? Old brass keys would be nice, or
maybe a pen.
Overall, I think that your images are very close to reality in appearance.
You may want to darken the centers of your gerbera a bit though. Most of those
we see here have different colored centers. But that is just an opinion and
should not truly influence the great work you have here very much.

Cheers!

This is a stunning image exactly as is. It would also make a nice setting
for a focal object (like a butterfly) but you would have to choose something
of sufficient quality (modeling, texture, etc) to enhance the image,
otherwise you might ruin it. I'm saving a copy of this version to inspire
me in my raytracing attempts. Beautiful.

Thanks very much!

About those old brass keys and such, I don't know. Its all more
like an "in-studio photography" scene, so that would seem
to distract a little, I guess.
But I'll try with darker centers...

Thanks!

The issue with modelling/texture is something close to
what I am thinking, though it seems like some praise
when you say "sufficient quality"... :-)

Spock brainstormed and said, perfectly logical IMHO:

This looks great as it is, very cool and fresh.

If you want to add something how about a letter/envelope with a pink bow tied
round it or something like that with an address or a girls name on the cover.

PS: I see you used my background idea, it really works well here doesn't it?

How about a single flower petal on the surface near the vase?

Good idea, I'll experiment with that.

Thanks!

The letter idea is nice, but I think not manageable with satisfying
results in the given time.

And yes, your background-pattern is of general good use. Thanks
for the suggestion!

Really beautiful... casually, I had seen some of these the last weekend,
at the house of a friend, just in a vase much like yours. But they were of
different colors: some red, some orange and some white. All them mixed on
the same vase looked really nice.
