This scene needs something... I can't quite tell what.
Also, there is a place where there are some black lines.
All I can figure is that the screen saver came on and stole some bits from the
renderer LOL.

I'd say that it needs more highlights (and shadows). Place a light source
somwhere so that you get some specular highlights on the water surface, and
maybe som from water drops on the walls of the tunnel as well.

It's difficult to say, without knowing, what objects you used. You didn't
post the source somewhere, did you? If it has something to do with
Isosurfaces, I would recognise those lines. The answer is always the same:
Increase max_gradient (first), and/or lower accuracy (second). If there are
no Isos involved, I can only think of some other accuracy problems. Perhaps,
the object you use supports the sturmian (sp!) solver (triggered by the
'sturm'-keyword).

Give us some code to look at, and someone will be able to help you.
