Just for laughs, I think I'll post an image I made a while back...
comments welcome. Took 51 hours 9 mins and 7 seconds to render on
a Pentium II/700 with 192 MB of RAM with POV 3.1 under Win98SE.

Nice. Reminds me of the game Half Life.

Yes, it is very much like half life. I expect the geiger counter to start
clicking or something. Are those HEV suit storage pods? :) The scene
doesn't look like an obvious piece out of POV-Ray, like the lighting or
camera is really adding alot to the scene. What did you use for the glowing
tubing?
PII 700? Is that overclocked or do you mean a PIII? I am still rendering
images on the fastest PII Intel released... the 450 :)

Actually not. They're supposed to be experimentation chambers
that hold tissue while it's being modified...I have another
rendering from an outside-the-chamber viewpoint but the
imported poser model doesn't look right. [see attachment]
Poser sucks. There's also supposed to be mechanical stuff
inside the chambers but I never got around to that. Also the
mirrors in the attached image aren't parellel; the ones in
the other one are.

The glowine tubes are cylinders with 3 point lights spaced evenly
along their length with a material of solid white with transmit
.01 and ambient 1, diffuse 1, brilliance 10, phong 1, phong size
100, specular 1, reflection 1, iridescence 1 with depth .5
The camera has a 100 degree FOV and is looking through a sphere
with IOR of 1.05

PIII, yeah.

Maybe it's just my computer fans in the background, but you can imagine
that thing is real...
