It seems that every once in a while some pover wants to re-invent the
wheel and make his own macro for making brick walls. Well, now it was my
turn.
I need a bit of brick wall to my current WIP scene, so I experimented
with ISO bricks and brick textures. Attached is one setting
demonstrating one version of them.
Rendered with POV 3.5 beta 4.

I like the imperfections; however, I think the color variation is too
strong.

I disagree :-). I'm trying to model ancient brickwork, and you don't
have to look further than beginning of 20th century to see wide
variatons in colors of the brick in same wall. This combination of red
and yellow is mimicced from cellar of my workplace, altough my brick are
still too clean, uniform and sharp-edged to resemble those ones.
