Well... here is a very preliminary image, and a corresponding
screenshot.

YAMC = Yet Another Model Converter

This is from a Quake III player model. I could find those easily,
and knew they had things such as alternate skins, UV mapping,
animation...

Yes.

In theory it should run on just about anything that has a 1.1.8 (maybe
1.1.5) or higher VM.

No. I grabbed this on my Linux box running RedHat 7.1

The internal widgets are Swing, and are all using "Metal", the default java
cross-platform look-and-feel. The window frames themselves are from
Enlightenment (my window manager), and that is using the "E-Tech Hydro theme".
