Just for comparison, can you post (here or on your site) the same image
rendered without radiosity at all, then with radiosity, then with radiosity
and your post processing? It would easier for me to see what is going on if I
can see the difference in the images.

It really is just a quick test using estimated sun/sky
energy ratio.

It seems that not much can be done with the transfer
curve at least in this scene.
