Hi there,
just came back from a journey to the other end of my country (Canada).
I started programming 3D again, I decided to leave OpenGL, since I believe I
will never be able to achieve anything worth the trouble. I decided to continue
working with OpenGL for it's Graphical abilities for interfaces and such, but
not for games...
So... as I said I started programming with Povray again and here is one of my
works...
Right now it needs some more bumps to simulate some concrete, also I think the
color is wrong. Since I have a genetic problem that prevent me from seeing the
colors right, if anyone could send me a hint on RGB for the GDI's color in
Command&Conquer!
Suggestions, comments highly apreciated!
Also, I will need to add some fake trees and pines, know any good macro I could
use with POV-Ray 3.1 linux?
Also, I will be making mountains and rivers, if there is any macros for that
also... I'm concentrating my renders on the buildings and (to come) the
vehicles...
Thanks,
Simon

Uh ... I liked the game very much ...
We had a lot of fun when we played it on LAN-parties ...
Made more fun than DOOM in these days ...
The Color of the GDI has been somethink like:
#EEDE54
RGB: <238,222,84>/255
... but it could have been less saturation .... it's hard to tell without
something to compare...
I think I will play it again some day ...
Does someone know, if it will run under w2k ?
I don't believe it ...

I don't know about a tree macro, but just FYI, a POV macro should work the
same regardless of what system you're using.

Unfortunately, I did not have the chance to play on LAN... :(

I took a snapshot and tried to get the color with gimp and I think it's more
like
RGB: <246, 215, 124>/256
I took this color on the top of a Silo, and then on a Mammoth tank and it gave
almost the same color...
Thanks though!

Yes of course, but just in case someone had a program for modelling trees that
could output a pov file...
Actually, I could run Linux programs and Macintosh programs as well...
Thanks,
Simon

Thanks, this kind of work is pretty easy, since it's made of CSG operations
only... The final work should be a huge CSG party!! Which is good for me,
since I never did anything realistic, this is my first attempt!
Thanks,
Simon

Both Giles an Thomas Aust have tree macros that build pov output files.
PS: I don't know if Thom's builds an output file, but it can be run in
standard pov on any platform. Do a search on the POV links page.
