You're simulating with Navier Stokes, right? How coarse is your 3d grid?

Yes, I solve the Navier Stokes equations on a 50x50x100 grid for this
simulation.

I think this example looks more gel-like than the previous one, because 
the ripples in the middle of the tank don't quite go away. If it were 
real water, I think they would spread out and disappear more quickly. It 
still is a nice effect, though.

Secondly, how are you calculating the Mesh?  Did you write the software to 
calculate the equations ( which a quick Google has shown are way out of my 
league)?

Martin,

It's a problem that is present in my simulation from the start. It's clearly
something destroying the realism.

Josh,

I wrote the software. I used mainly the paper of Nick Foster
(http://www.cis.upenn.edu/~fostern/).
