That's neat.

One unrealistic looking thing is that the weight distribution is not 
accounted for. If you could make the "body" move from side to side to make 
it better balanced over the leg currently standing on the ground, I think it 
would improve the look a lot.

Nice, but way to dark. Even with brightness to the max, it's still very dark.
Make me think of the small StarWar walkers.

Ever heard of gyroscopic stabilisation? Have 2 horizontal contra-rotating 
gyroscopes, each over 2 tons, turning around 10K RPM, that should do the trick!!!
