Well, that's very clever! I wouldn't have thought of that. Now that you've
exposed my mind to it, I see several other possibilities, all natural
extensions to this: multiple converging wheels, parrallel wheels like an
odomoter, etc., and for some strange reason Burma Shave.

Good work.
I think it would look even better with glows =)

I second this suggestion. Glows would be nice.
One thing that struck me when I watched was a kind of "hit you over the
head" impact of the words. I don't know if it would look better or worse
but I wondered about a pattern of stars that was more evenly spread over the
entire wheel (or at least 120 degrees) so the user would only detect the
message after a few cycles. That didn't come out right. I mean the message
is there in every cycle but it is more subtle, imbedded in a seemingly
random pattern of approximately uniform density. After watching the wheel
go 'round a few times the message might start to imprint itself on the
viewer's mind (perhaps not even at a conscious level).
Ok, maybe this is nonsense. But you might want to increase the subtlety
factor anyway :-)

Nice effect.
Reminds me of the boot-up screen of Black and White. They do a similar
effect with the camera flying round in amoungst black and white stars that
appear to be completely random, until the camera pulls back and they form
the lionhead logo. very nice. Though their one has glows and runs in
real-time ;)
BTW, why's your file so big? It took me 5 minutes to download that on my
feeble 56k modem!

Sorry about the large file size. I had to use a large format (640 x 480) in
order to make the stars render as round spheres instead of pixely
rectangular shapes, especially when viewed full screen.
