this little animation is not meant to be artistic in any way. it is a
test for my tracking method. A while back in p.a-u I asked about the
matrix transform. I think I have gotten a little undestanding of it.
Basically, in this scene, a turret is placed at a location determined
via the trace() command. the gun the tracks the flying yellow ball. the
gun barrel and the turret are seperate objects and are controlled
separately.
I plan to make this a real scene, so stay tuned.... :-)

The turret looks somewhat like the Stumpy tank from Total Annihilation
A little on the fast side, but very neat

I can't see it on my mac. Apparently I don't have the codec. mpeg is
horrible, yes, but at least I'd be able to view it. Most AVI's play
fine on my machine, but not this one--which codec are you using?

Hmm, it worked fine on mine...what OS/QuickTime version do you have? I
have OS 9.0.4...

i must apologize for the trouble, I really don't know much about the
different formats, I just make crunch the images into a format that looks
good and work on my PC. Can someone suggest a good program to make good
mpegs? right now I am using bmp2avi... which I don't really like too much.
it is tough to get feed back if no one can see you work... ;-)

Have you tried CMPEG? If you find the attached mpg acceptable: it was
done with it. Only thing is you have to start with uncompressed TGA...
Hope this helps.

I'm running Quicktime 4.1.2 on OS 9.0.4. Perhaps some sort of network
error or the like. No matter, Sander's mpeg-ed version played just
fine. (Thanks, Sander).
