In povray.ini still appears the comment:

; Specify path to search for any files not found in current
; directory. Up to 20 such paths may be specified. For example -

The maximum of 20 paths has been obsolete for some time now. I thought
it would be worthwhile to mention this. New users might be fooled ;-)
