I was in the middle of a long render (radiosity, photons, reflection
and refraction) and the power went off. Argh! Anyway, when it came
back I wanted to continue the render but got a fatal message along the
lines of "Cannot read bmp magic number."
Argh! I *hate* power outrages!
What was even stranger, I sighed and ditched the "+c" option and still
POV did a continued trace, although it clearly said "Continued trace:
off" in the message pane.
FWIW, POV 3.5b7 Win98 SE, K6III/400, 128 RAM, bmp

Just in case: Did you run scandisk to see that there isn't any disk error
at that file?

It was a forced shutdown so NDD was launched automatically.
But the file was OK since POV continued it anyway the second time I
ran it.
