In Outlook Express select your message.
On the main menu bar select Message then Cancel message.

Yes, that's what the O.E. docs say. However in this case the option has been
grayed out. Do I need to adjust an O.E. setting to enable it? I can't find a
reference in the docs. Well, my hunch is that the news server does not
support it.

Sorry, I can't help you there. If the option is grayed out I have no
idea what you can do.

Hmm, are you sure that you have selected the message to be cancelled before
trying to cancel it ? The button is greyed out by default and only becomes
"live" on your own messages (I've been confused by this before).

I had the exact same problem, with OE 4, too. Never found a way to
workaround.

Now under OE 6 it seems to work.
