WINPOV Beta 10, Win 98SE, P3 600MHz, 128MB
When I use the +I switch in the command-line of the windows GUI and
give a wrong filename (e.g. +IABC), I get the messages:
Possible Scene File Parser Initialization Error: Could not find file
'ABC.pov'
Scene File Parser Initialization Error: Cannot open input file.
But in the status bar it keeps saying "Parsing...". When I open a menu,
the "Parsing..." disappears.

Nope, it pretty much blinks that status "Parsing..." only momentarily and is
then gone by itself when POV-Ray stops.
WinXP here, so I'd guess it's possibly specific to the OS. Emphasis on
guess.

Neither under Win98.

It does happen for me (POV-Ray 3.5 beta 10, Windows 98 SE, Athlon 700, 256
MB). In fact, I reported it a long time ago:

Wasn't it Anders K. who wrote:

Could you check that reference? The article it points at has nothing to
do with the +I switch, and the bug that it does refer to was fixed quite
a while back.

The original bug report in this thread said:

The first part is expected since ABC.pov doesn't exist. The bug is that the
status bar keeps saying "Parsing...", which is exactly the bug I reported in
the post I mentioned. It was said to be fixed, but apparently it's still
present.
