Is the following thing an (unreported) bug?
While rendering an animation, the scrolling of Messages window becomes
slower and slower.
In the beginning it goes fast, like it should. But gradually it decreases in
speed and becomes very slow. And if the animation consists of say 2000
frames, that's a slow scrolling problem consumes a significant amount of
time.

Which platform ?
I'm assuming it's a problem with m$-w* widgets,
there is probably no fix in pov for that unless you fix the system...
and they are doing that since at least fifteen years!

It is no longer unreported (was, I think, before you reported it) but
is not a bug.

Well, there's a whole lot more info to scroll when you've rendered a
few hundred frames. Having a tiled bitmap background doesn't help
speed much either. Solution? Tap Alt-M right after you've tapped Alt-G
and only view the message window when you really need it.
