   Take any part of code comment it out using /*  ....   */ make sure the
last */ is on its own line and then select that line by clicking on the left
margin. Delete it and you will notice the rest of the code is commented out.
This is all good so far but if you undo then the */ returns but the code is
still yellow although it renders correctly.

  I would bet it's a problem with the codemax editor and not easy to fix...
(I could be wrong, of course).
