Hi!
I don't know, how to put it right.
I mentioned this problem before and it still exists with beta 2.

No one answered me, so maybe, I'm just stupid, but I can't figure it
out.
When you specify an Inifile and give an Post_Scene_Command but no
Post_Scene_Return, it can happen, that WinPOV is not able to create
the process (execute the Command), it just works if Post_Scene_Command
is the last entry in the inifile, and there's no <enter> behind it.
I explained this problem further in the thread mentioned above. No one
ever answered. :-(
Thanks,
cukk

I don't have the time to test this, but I hope someone will
finally hear you.
I think more persons would be interested if you could send
an .ini file that fails (even only sometimes) and an .ini
file that never fails.
Since the problem seems to depend on the number of end of
lines at the end of the file, I suggest you zip your example
files and put them into povray.beta-test.binaries.

Going through stuff I've marked to be read later... do you think that
this might be due to the same problem someone else posted later that has
to do with a bogus newline being tacked on the end of the command?

Do you mean
Subject: Shellout command line contains trailing \r\n

?
I think that's just a part of the problem. The reason it works if it
is the last statement in an inifile and otherwise don't - could be
answered with this. But I don't know how to explain, why it works when
you specify a Post_Scene_Return-command.
And I didn't test it with beta 4 (haven't installed it yet).

(Speaking to myself...)
The Problem still exists in beta 4.
But I'm looking forward to beta 5 - a part of it sholud vanish, if you
correct that following-CRLF-bug. :-)
