Hello All.

I have written a small program to create character animations in POV. Would
anyone like to beta test it? It works on the idea of designing a skeletal

action files that manipulate the bones and the corresponding CSG over time. All
of the output is POV code. The documentation with some lesson tutorials is
on-line if you want to look at it before trying the program.

The program is beta so expect some bugs. But, it does seem to work even though I
already have a list of things to fix and finish. Let me know what you find and I

I just posted a similar-sounding include file called bones.inc at

Hi robotguy,

I just took a quick look at the documentation for your include file. (Haven't
played with it yet.) But, you are right. I think we had similar ideas on how to
structure a character in POV. I first started by trying to create an animation
system for a blobman type of character. I was going to use a spreadsheet to
maintain a file of joint angles for the animation. I got carried away and
created my GUI program Alive! instead. I've still got a long list of bugs and
enhancements with very little time to work on it. I'm not sure if anybody else
has even tried it. But, it's fun to play with.

I'll give your include a try and let you know what I think.
