I need a program to create an animation from a series of images. The
program I’ve used in the past (TMPGEnc) has changed beyond my needs. It
now only joins video clips and if I try to use images it produces a
slideshow.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a programme that is not a command
line one?

IIRC I used to use that one way back when.
I use VideoMach now - seems pretty simple to open, select all my png's, and
click "export" to make AVI's, gifs, etc.
I use Format Factory for doing other things if I have a problem exporting to
that file format directly.

Thanks I had forgotten about that. It does the job. :-)

Thanks, I know that you can use Blender but I've not looked at how to do
it. Too much brain power involved for the simple task I wanted it for. ^-^
I was testing something and did not want to introduce another factor
into the test.

It is easy. It isn't necessary to study Blender for this purpose. Look at a
lesson:

It is a pity that many are frightened by Blender.
It is very good tool.
I communicated with people who used 3D-max, Maya, Cinema, but, now they use the
Blender.
I can always help to master this tool.
There is in the Blender the fact that I don't know. It because I don't want to
know that to me it isn't this: skulpting, grease pencil
I am not a sculptor and not the artist.
I am not able to mold figures from clay, I am not able to draw...
I am able to use Python to increase possibilities of creation of objects.
Again the translator wrote unclear abracadabra? :) :) :)

I have not used the grease pencil. When I dig my graphics tablet out, I
might try it.

I think I understand and art is art whether in the real world or the
virtual one.

Abracadabra! A word that magicians say when they do magic.

I meant:
My words for English-speaking users are nonsense.
Buddhists speak: flows (consciousnesses, reason, mind...as synonyms)

So I thought and I agree.
Your gift of the tutorial was enlightening.
