I played a little with media but was unable to create realistic clouds.
Are there any examples out there?

There is no short supply of clouds for POV-Ray. Right here at the news
groups there are many, look through the povray.binaries.scene-files and
povray.text.scene-files (search for "clouds").
There's actually some good textured layered plane type clouds too, no media
used. Either kind has their pros and cons. Something to investigate for
yourself.

definitely wrong newsgroup to ask this questions!

I bet proray.text.scene-files will contain some samples,
povray.general or povary.advanced-user might provide help
don't cross post, try one at a time

cheers
