Music is two-dimensional. A font is one-dimensional. I would think that 
you would need something more sophisticated than just a font to write 
music with.

Correction: loudness adds a third dimension to music, in addition to 
time and note.

I couldn't care less about doing musical notation with POV-Ray; but the
more general topic of using exotic fonts and characters in POV-Ray might
be of interest.
