Now that Moray is not available, what are people using for a modeler, please?

I've tried Bishop3D, but it wont work with Povray 3.6 on windows 8.1.
I keep getting a povray error message about being busy with Bishop request.

I have mostly switched to modelling my objects in Silo2 (not free but
fairly cheap) after having used Wings3D for several years. I intend (for
several years now too) to work also with Blender. This results in using
POV-Ray as the central scene-building program with the others as
component providers. The great advantage is that objects are mesh2 which
render much faster than complex POV-Ray objects would.

Thanks Thomas,

I have looked at Blender, but I found it a bit daunting. Mind you, that was many
years ago, and I believe the interface has been changed since then. I've not
heard of Silo2, so will give it a look.

I wonder what the other people here use?

Dave

I also know C++. I have doen many software conversions in my career. I can bring
the code up to speed while getting rid of the toolbar licensing problem.

I think it is a long way off. It was said that it would be after Pov Ver
4.0 and that is to be a complete rewrite IIRC. ATM they are at Pov Ver
3.7 (ish)
