It occurred to me that this is a remarkable international effort. I'm not
sure, but I think that each of us working on this tribute is from a
different country. We are doing something that just a few years ago would
have been impossible. In celebration of that fact, I thought it would be
cool if each of us made an ornament that represents in some symbolic way the
country we're from. I made this one representing my country, the USA. I can
upload the .mdl file to the yahoo group if needed. Is anyone interested in
doing this? Even if you're not, I'm really curious, what country are you
from?

Indeed. We take it for granted somehow, that we can communicate by e-mail and
through the internet (I confess, I am having trouble writing with a pen
nowadays!!), this is however, very recent. I have been involved in international
research projects until about some five years ago, and even then not all
participants had an e-mail address. Often, the fastest mean was the fax!
So, yes, we may rightly celebrate this little feat!
OK. A wooden shoe it will be for me (Netherlands), although a pair of boots
would be better perhaps, living at five meters below sea level as I do!!

I'm from the UK. I live in England, London but I'm originally from Glasgow in
Scotland. As for something representing my nation I thought of a caber but I see
you're using one in the tree:-}
I'll try and come up with something if not a Union Flag on your Christmas ball.

Stephen
