As a person who has grumbled in the past about late topic announcements
and voting results, I think that I am a good person to start this thread
thanking the IRTC team for moving so quickly yesterday. I have many
times looked forward to the first day of a new contest, only to be
disappointed when the day comes and goes without the anticipated events
having happened.
To be honest, I'm not crazy about the new topic, but the enthusiasm
shown yesterday by the volunteers who run the contest has given me a lot
of enthusiasm.
Thank you,
-Shay

Sshhhh! They haven't posted it officially yet. You're sneaking in the back
way, remember?

Even so, the back way hasn't been available on the first day of the
competition for quite a while. It's odd to me that there are *two*
threads regarding a few rules violations, yet I seem to be the only one
interested enough to comment on the fact that the contest has been
effectively lengthened by 3 to 5 days.

Ah. Since I only discovered the back way round before last I'm not up on
availability times. I do find it interesting that the time between the back
way and the official posting seems much longer this time. The ones I've
seen previously the official announcement was up within 24-36 hrs of the
ftp.
Just more evidence I guess that the admins have plenty to do to keep them
busy.

And odd to me that all that discussion is in the POV forum, while the IRTC
mailing list has only discussed the one that wasn't a violation but was
submitted 4 times. I would have thought that was the logical place to post
rules violations.

Good point! Maybe I should start putting it to use!
