Well, I got sick last week, and now, thanks to that, it looks like my image
isn't going to be done in time. I already had to stop it once because some
of the bits were too slow (it stalled friday night and was still only a few
pixels later on sunday morning) It's now going, but I don't know that it'll
finish in time.

*wah* And this one was *good*

Let the IRTC admins know - they may be able to help out with a late
submission?

You have my sympathy. I booked today off work so I could do some final
tweaks to my image, but the render time has now crept up to 15 hours (it was
just 8 a few days ago) which meant that I didn't have time to make any more
changes today before I submit, so I've just wasted a day of holiday!
Fortunately I'm pretty happy with my image as it stands.

You should submit anyway, I thought your WIPs were great :)

Well, it looks like it's going to finish after all, but it's got a really
ugly spot, thanks to a modification that I made that didn't work out
correctly.

I'll probably go ahead and submit, though it really pains me.

Well, it didn't finish. So you won't be seeing it in the contest. I'll try
posting it to bin.images when it's ready.

Due to other obligations, I was unable to continue my image after I
posted a WIP in p.b.i back in early March, so I decided not to enter the
round. Looking at the pictures, it seems I should have entered
anyways. Oh well!

P.S.: Why all these ant pictures? Did some people know in advance what
would be the next topic?

Yeah. I'm not really impressed with the quality this round. I should have
put in the work print. Oh well.

I have a good idea for next time, which would be titled "The wooing of
butterflies", but it requires creating clothing, and I don't think I have
the skill for that.

Oh well.

To be honest, the overall level seems better than that for worship -
however, I expected a lot from that round, and not much from this one, so I
suspect it's mainly subjective...

IMHO, it's easy to be distracted by the low-quality images. A better test
would be to count the number of quality images in any round.

As always, there are a few good ones, but it seems less than usual. You're
right that it's mainly subjective.

Still, mine was one of the 'good' ones (IMO), so I wish it had finished.
