Since most of our french compatriots post things in here on occassion,
I'd thought I'd ask in here and not just in the OT group.
I'm creating a CG animation, and a part of it has a little french
speaking in the background. I was wondering if anyone would care to
translate some English into french for me. It is *very* simple language
and not very long at all (about 20 or spoken lines).
I'll give you a credit in the film, and a free copy of it at full
resolution burned on to a CD when the film is complete (Next year, don't
hold your breath, but I *will* be finishing it.) I just really want a
native French speaker to do this, so it comes off right.
Oh, you can check out some details to the film at my website.
Thanks
-Peter

The best thing to do, IMO : post this message in the
news://news.zoo-logique.org/3d.Pov-Ray
newsgroup, it's full of French Povists who mostly understand English
and will happily help you ! (I could do the translation, but I
don't think my voice is nice enough for the purpose).
Fabien.

Oh, maybe I should warn you about something : Ravel being dead in
1937, his heirs (which aren't his descendants, BTW) still have
full rights over his work until 2007 (death+70 years).
They are known to act very stupidly. For examples, they have
(while they are not musicians in any way) forbidden several
conductors to play the "bolero".
I think you take almost no risk in what you are doing, but be
cautious...
Fabien.
..copyright sucks..

Why? Do they think they are going to get huge amounts of money from it?

The fact that someone plays it doesn't mean that the copyright owner
receives even a penny from it.

But in this case Ravel's heirs are famous in France for the fact that they
are the highest music copyrights gainers
