The artistic merit honorable mention image 'seaview.jpg' breaks the rules.

  I quote:

"All images must be original. You may not use another person's image
with or without their permission. You may not use an image that you
created in the past. You may of course re-use good ideas and even
objects from past images that you have created."

This image is made at least 1 or 2 years ago (or even more). I clearly
remember this image. This guy had made a povray-version and a bryce version
(like the one posted). He posted an article about the image (I don't remember
in which newsgroup, but it was probably in c.g.r.r, or else here in the
povray news server). He said back then that he had made that image for
his girlfriend (look at the image description).

  Anyone else remember this?

The image can be found in his homepage. Go to:

http://www.mclink.it/personal/MC7872/graphics/index.html#image_galleries

and select the link "Gallery 1 Images from March 1998 to November 1998".

There you can find the image.
Look at the page info for the image
(http://www.mclink.it/personal/MC7872/graphics/images/Sea_View.jpg):

The image is more than 2 years old.

Since he did end up placing you should contact the IRTC admins and notify
them of this violation, since they don't make a habit of reading these
newsgroups.

We have been hit or miss in the past. I hope to start spending more time
participating here now.

As for seaview, it's history. The evidence is pretty clear that it was a
pre-existing image.
