I tried to produce a picture good enough to be shown in this round.
Unfortunately, time kicks me out the game.
My opinion : I prefered to give up instead of competing with an
unfinished/bad/meaningless picture as I did in the past.
By the way, please correct my english if necessary. Actually I'm not very
sure of what I am writing. You know that french people isn't very good at
"exotic" languages.

I hadn't thought of that, maybe I'll give it a go.

Reading between the lines of many of the postings, it seems that many povers
were intimidated by having a whole year ("a whole year and that was the best
you could do?"). I mean, just because you have a year, that doesn't mean
you're going to do nothing else but work on one picture.
For me, it was a nice opportunity - I have a family, etc, etc., and the
extended period meant I could find the free-time needed to complete a
picture.
Perhaps everyones expectations were unrealistic - both of themselves and of
others?

There were a few excellent images. And others which, while decidedly amateurish,
did look like the author had really tried. I respect that. But what annoyed me
most (as in most recent rounds) was the overabundance of Poser people. Sure, OK,
they look good - but they should add a little spice to the scene, not BE the
scene! They usually look like below-average quality mannequines, aniway.
One of these days I'm gonna enter myself and then you'll see!
Maybe...
I hope...

Perhaps with the horror round we've seen that 1 year to work on a submission
doesn't necessarily result in better quality images. Perhaps IRTC could
have shorter "long" rounds of say 3 months or so??

No. What we have seen is that even if there's one year for making the
image, most people start making it 2-4 months before deadline.
I remember reading articles of people who started just about 1 month
before deadline.
