Shire,

SmoothTeddy is designed to be a proove of concept. I dont think that
you can use it in bigger projects.

Anyhow the ideas behind a great, because
it does two things in a small, neat java application:

mesh subdivision
and
painting on polygon meshes.

If you want to make bigger models (and use it without any problems in
POV-Ray) you can look at this tools:

Wings3D (http://www.wings3d.com/), free polygon modeller
or
Rheingold3D (http://www.tb-software.com/products2.html), commercial
polygon modeller

and

Tattoo (http://www.terabit.nildram.co.uk/tattoo/), free realtime mesh
painting software

All 3 tools gives you much more on hand and can be used with POV-Ray.
