Well, but how would that work? Make it fill the smaller of the
dimensions? That means that if you change the size of the window by
maximizing or resizing, it will change the way the image fills the
view.....

Out of interest, in what particular case would this be useful?

I guess the workaround is to edit the image, adding borders at the top
and bottom (or left and right) edges to have the same aspect ratio as
the viewport.....
