In "The Expanse" an alien race had set up a network of gates/wormholes 
that link 1.300 stellar system through a hub which likely is an 
extrauniversal bubble of space. Later during the unfolding story, humans 
gained access to this network.

This scene shows a ship after passing a ring gate, entering the ring space.
