Hi(gh)!

Once more I dug out a long-forgotten gem of classical POVing: David
Gemelli's Maze Solver, published on 1998-10-19, 10:58 on
povray.binaries.scene-files (unfortunately, I have no clue how to link
it here... could someone explain, please?). Attached is a rendering of
the scene in 1024 by 768 pixels using POV-Ray 3.7.

While trying out different starting positions than the default 1,1, I
pretty soon got a "Too many nested macros" error - so I would like to
re-program it in an iterative rather than recursive way. A further idea
is to generate an animated run-through of the maze from "pedestrian's
view", also to include a maze generator; the most ambitious project
would be to extend the whole concept to the third dimension, i. e.
creating, solving and animating 3-D rather than 2-D mazes...

...if I only had access to time-expanding drugs! Or a multi-processor
brain extension... not to forget some transhumanist devices to prolong
my life expectancy well into the 22nd century. Currently, I'm occupied a
large chunk of my time with building a database on electronic organs
("Greenbook" - which later on might develop into a virtual POV-Ray
and/or X3D museum ("Organ Palace") even with playable VST organs, of
course situtated in the Spinzar Semiconductors Tower at Kabul,
POVghanistan (running in Afghatopia 2050 mode)!), and still with the
not-so-small Kallipyros asteroid project (currently preparing a huge
material_map for soil types)...

See you in Khyberspace!

Yadgar
