No it's not random. 

These are real lathe objects (in plain POV-Ray 
v3.1) where each is made up by many 2D control 
points (macros re-calculates these points for 
each lathe segment.)

Other macros cuts the lathe objects into segments 
and puts them into their positions.

I have control, but at the moment I have not 
finished the "front end" macro so it's a little 
bit cumbersome to gain exact control over the 
overall shape.
