the image by Jacques-Henri Lartigue is the result of the car moving. a "slow"
slit moving and the camera moving with the car but slower. This results in the
"temporal" deformation of the car (wheels) and of the deformation of the public
watching.

If you have a flatbed image scanner you can put a bottle on it and roll it while
scanning. Try to roll it with the same speed as the scan. Or use puppets instead
of bottles an not only roll them but also move them up/down slowly. Or partly
slide them along without rolling. The scanner is a perfect slit-cam for this and
getting a feel for the concept of it.

Yes, partial output works, but you'd still have to assemble all the images from
the animation (image magick).
